Same material length in every form. Only the geometry changes.
For a wire, cable, hose, rope or tube, the material length is fixed but the packed form is not. CubeRight treats coil geometry as a decision variable: it holds material volume constant, sweeps the coil width across the full range, solves the outer diameter from the annulus relation, and keeps the form that packs best into this specific carton.
We tested this claim against thirteen products across every category that touches the problem — cartonization APIs, load-optimization engines, parcel platforms, supply-chain suites and the Tier-1 WMS and ERP modules. Every one of them takes item dimensions as immutable input. Patent searching on coil and wire packing returns mechanical art only — winding machines, spools, drum apparatus. We found no software prior art for choosing packed geometry to optimize container fit.
It matters most where it is worth most: wire, cable, hose, rope, tubing, webbing and chain move enormous freight volumes and are priced by the pallet position. On those lanes, a form the container likes is worth more than any carton-selection decision available downstream of it.

Three claims we refuse to make, because a knowledgeable buyer would dismantle them. "Our packing algorithm is better." Not provably — the best engines in this category have thirty years and hundreds of clients behind them, and we would lose that argument. "We cube early, nobody does this." Several vendors compute cube at order capture, and pre-pick cartonization shipped commercially over a decade ago. "We're AI-powered." No vendor in this category, ourselves included, deploys learned packing policies. It is marketing everywhere, and a technical buyer will ask.
